You're flying from Paris to Marrakech soon. Three hours in the air, but three hours that quickly become five if you add the taxi to CDG, security, waiting, possible delay, baggage claim, and taxi negotiation on arrival. Here is how to make every step work.
The real Paris Marrakech flight time
Three hours is the average flight time between Paris Charles de Gaulle (IATA code: CDG) and Marrakech Menara (IATA code: RAK). More precisely, count on 2h55 to 3h15 depending on winds, airline, and air corridor.
If you fly out of Orly (ORY), it's slightly faster heading south, but the difference is negligible. Beauvais BVA has no direct route to Marrakech.
Time difference between Paris and Marrakech changes with the season. In summer, Paris is one hour ahead of Marrakech. In winter, it's the opposite, Morocco aligns with Greenwich, so one hour behind Paris. A flight leaving CDG at 11am lands around 1pm local Marrakech time in summer.
Best airlines on the route
Four airlines cover the Paris Marrakech direct route.
Royal Air Maroc. The national carrier. Regular flights from CDG and ORY, multiple rotations daily in high season. Checked baggage included on most economy fares. Decent in-flight service, hot meal on some slots. Default choice for Moroccan diaspora and business travel.
Air France. Daily CDG-RAK flights, usually morning and early evening. Flying Blue program, upgrade possible with miles. 12 kg cabin baggage allowed, hold depends on fare.
Transavia. Low-cost arm of the Air France-KLM group. Flights mainly from ORY. Often competitive fares if you book ahead and travel light. Watch for baggage and seat selection extras.
Ryanair. On the route from Beauvais and sometimes CDG. Very low fares, but strict baggage rules and sometimes inconvenient airports.
Our advice for a premium trip: Royal Air Maroc in Business class or Air France in Premium Economy. You land rested, you pass through priority desks on arrival, you save 30 to 45 minutes.
Average 2026 prices
Prices swing significantly with the period. Here are the orders of magnitude observed on comparison sites in May 2026, for a one-way economy ticket.
- Low season (January, February, November): from around 100 euros on low-cost, around 150 to 250 euros on traditional carriers.
- Mid season (March, April, June, September, October): usually between 180 and 350 euros.
- High season (July, August, school holidays): 400 to 700 euros, sometimes more at peak.
- Exceptional peaks (Eid al-Fitr, Eid al-Adha, Christmas): 600 to 1100 euros, sometimes higher if you book late.
In Business class, count from 800 to 1200 euros one way on Royal Air Maroc, more on Air France.
Book ideally 6 to 10 weeks before departure for best prices. Tuesday and Wednesday are the cheapest days, Friday and Sunday the most expensive.
Baggage, what works and what doesn't
In cabin, most airlines accept around 8 kg on average (10 to 12 kg on upper classes) with standard dimensions (around 55 x 40 x 20 cm). One personal item (handbag, laptop bag) in addition.
In hold, it depends on the fare. Basic economy fares on low-cost often don't include hold baggage. To be added as a paid extra, cheaper online than at the airport.
Important rules for Morocco: no drone without prior authorisation, no alcohol in commercial quantity (reasonable personal use is fine), no military or paramilitary equipment. Moroccan customs pay attention to new electronics, keep receipts if you carry recent gear.
RAK airport transfer to Marrakech
Menara airport sits about 6 km from the centre. In theory, 15 minutes. In practice, at 8pm on a Friday, you can double that.
Three options.
Official small taxi. Meter is mandatory but often ignored. Agree on the price before getting in. Common rate between 100 and 150 dirhams to the centre depending on time. Cash only.
Uber and Careem. Available in Marrakech for a few years. More predictable rates, card payment. Wait time can be long at peak airport hours.
KingKech private transfer. Driver in suit, high-end vehicle (Mercedes E-Class, Range Rover, G-Class, BMW 7 Series on request), name sign at the exit, fresh water, onboard wifi. You step off the plane, you arrive at your villa without saying a word.
This is our most requested service from MRE travellers returning with family and bags, and from international visitors discovering Marrakech.

The first evening in Marrakech
You land. You need to drop the bags, eat, breathe. Here is how to handle these first hours.
If you're staying in a palmeraie villa, plan dinner on site. Ask your concierge to organise a caterer, chicken pastilla, tagine, fresh salad. You eat on arrival, you sleep early, you start the trip strong the next morning.
If you're staying in a medina riad, take a 30-minute walk to absorb the area. Jemaa el-Fna square in the evening, gnaouas, storytellers, orange juice stalls. Dinner on a rooftop terrace, Le Salama, Café des Épices, or Nomad for more modern cuisine.
If you're staying in Hivernage, several high-end restaurants within short distance. Le Comptoir Darna, dinner show, intimate atmosphere.
A few practical tips for the first evening: don't exchange money at the airport, rates are bad, wait until you're in town (exchange bureaus near Gueliz square or ATMs). Activate your Moroccan data or buy a local SIM (Maroc Telecom, Orange Maroc, Inwi) at the airport for 30 dirhams, avoids roaming fees.
Book your first villa night with catered dinner, we handle everything.
